What does Solarpadel do?
We work in partnership with landowners to develop and fund padel clubs
Many landowners, whether existing sports clubs, hotels, leisure centres, farms and even supermarkets are looking to add value with the installation of padel, a sport that anyone play.
The income generated through booking fees contributes towards payback of the initial investment and is shared with the site owner on an ongoing basis. We prefer covered padel courts, where the court roof has the potential to host solar panels that feed into powering the lighting and power consumed on site.
We develop the business plan, architectural drawings and handle the planning permission process, so there is very little for the landowner to do and no associated financial risk.
Outline criteria
We typically look for a minimum 20 year lease, with the potential to hand over ownership at the end of the term.
Depending on the site and local market appetite, we aim for a minimum 2 court set up with solar canopy, with the potential for a staged approach for expansion possible e.g. 2 initially up to, say, 5 courts
We aim to be the greenest padel operator in the UK
